Beginnings

Every year I buy a clean and fresh calendar that I can write down all my friends and families birthdays. I have them listed in my reminders on my IPOD, but love the ritual of writing down each and every person's date. I look back on my last year's calender and see the day where I called them or wrote them a note to celebrate their special day. I can also see all that I did that year with meetings or appointments. They are sketchy quips to just jar my memory and to let me use them as a small beacon to cause a flood of memories. It feels good to have everything organized and in place, ready for whatever God has in store for me this coming year. I know by the end of 2010 I will again have a notebook full of erasers, scratch outs, or happy additions of surprising events that I did not plan for at the beginning of this new and exciting year. Some events will indeed cause me pause or even heartache, but I know with God as the author of these blank pages that each year will be a history of love.
